Since most of STOPIFY subscribers are from Latvia, in the month marking the fourth anniversary of the full-scale invasion, we brought this message to the streets of Riga to remind people of – and raise awareness about – the importance of supporting the defenders in these dark times.
The idea is very direct and simple. A typical front-line reconnaissance drone camera viewpoint – we see a flight, but after a moment we realize: wait… this is Latvia! Zaķusala in Riga, the Kuldīgas Rumba, Turaida Castle, Aglona, and so on. Added to all this is a clear and unequivocal message – THIS WAR MUST BE ENDED IN UKRAINE. Each viewer will understand the alternative scenario and fill it in themselves.
We do not wish to unnecessarily increase anxiety in society – therefore, this camera flight is very neutral and merely thought-provoking. At the same time, the message is serious and straightforward – Ukraine’s defenders are currently fighting for Latvia’s future as well. Only by supporting them can we help stop this insane war sooner and prevent it from reaching our own country.
This war must be ended in Ukraine. Period.
